What does "30,000 Grains" mean?

In water treatment, Grains of Capacity is a measurement of how much "work" the system can do before it needs to refresh itself.

The "Sponge" Analogy:

Think of the iGen 30C as a high-tech sponge. It has the capacity to "soak up" 30,000 grains of dissolved calcium and magnesium.

The Efficiency Sweet Spot
